Introduction: The Food Dignity® Institute is built on the notion that everyone deserves Food Dignity®, but what does that really mean? In this lesson we encourage you to jump right in, watch videos on the origination of Food Dignity®,  think more about what this concept means to you, and consider how it helps solve hidden hunger. 

Course Components: 
  • Food Dignity® podcast with a food justice activist with lived experience in poverty and food inequity
  • Group or individual opening activity to practice empathy for those struggling with nutritional insecurity
  • 2 videos of Clancy sharing the what and why behind "Food Dignity®"
  • A drawing that opens the conversation about the impacts of poverty on people's mental health
  •  Group or individual activity exploring the term "hidden hunger"

During the course, you will: 
  • Define "Food Dignity®" and "hidden hunger".

After this course, you will: 
  • Relate the concepts of "Food Dignity®" and "hidden hunger" to your own community or work situation.

Introduction: In this lesson, we encourage you to listen to others share their perspectives, and consider what your work or project might look like if Food Dignity® was at the center.

Course content:
  • Video of Clancy explaining the basics of how to start a Food Dignity® Project
  • Video and audio recordings of Food Dignity® Movement partners implementing Food Dignity® Projects
  • Group or individual activity allowing participants to imagine and map out their own Food Dignity® Project

During the course, you will:

  • Brainstorm how you might be able to implement the Food Dignity® into your community or work situation.
